The UK Border Agency has published new versions of application forms for many temporary and permanent migration routes.

All FLR and SET applications forms, and forms for applications made in the UK under the points-based system, have been revised to reflect:

  • the mid-year increase in application fees;
  • the new option to pay the application fee by American Express (Amex); and
  • additional declaration pages which will allow us to obtain the information needed to support applications made in the UK.

Version 11/2010 of these forms should be used for all applications made from today.

The guidance notes for FLR and SET forms have also been revised (version 11/2010).

You can find the revised application forms in the relevant sections of the UK Border website, or by using the Apply online system.

Last week the UK Border Agency released a new video explaining the new English language requirement for migrant partners, which will be introduced this month.

From 29 November 2010, any migrant from outside the European Economic Area will need to show that they can speak and understand English if they want to enter or extend their stay in the UK as the partner of a British citizen or someone settled here. For many, this will mean taking an English language test with an approved test provider. Full details
