The Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) revise Shortage Occupations List – Video

The Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) this week published its first review of the shortage occupation lists for skilled workers coming to the UK from outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

Some jobs, such as Quantity Surveyors, have been removed, but new jobs have been added, for instance orchestral musicians, visual effects and computer animation technicians and contemporary dancers.

The skills threshold changed for care assistants (Social Care Workers) and chefs.

MAC have recommended that the qualification threshold for overseas Social Care Workers be changed to NQF (National Qualification Framework)/NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) Level 2 and the minimum salary cut from £8.80 to £7.80.

Provided the Government implements MAC’s recommendations, the changes will be welcome news for the Care Sector, Senior Carers and NVQ Health and Social Care students.

It may be possible depending on your experience and qualifications. You should seek professional advice from an OISC registered Immigration Adviser.
see recent article on switching http://www.immigrationmatters.co.uk/how-to-switch-immigration-categories-into-the-skilled-worker-category-tier-2-general.html

The educational provider decides what level of English is required for the course. Most NVQ colleges do not specify, but you must be reasonably competent to follow any course and work in the paid work placement.

It depends on your experience but is possible to apply under Tier 2 for a working visa.

I graduated my Bachelor of Science in nursing in the phillippines. I am interested under student Work Placement Scheme (SWOPS). Can you help me to look an employers, agencies, universities, who can sponsor my studies and to process my visa application through salary deduction. I am willing to deal this matter.

Thanks,
Grace
