As millions prepare for the greatest sporting spectacle on earth, the UK Border Agency (UKBA) has announced that from 1 January 2012 they will start processing visitor visas for those coming from outside the UK to watch the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Cynthia Barker, of Immigration Advisers Bison UK, warns that this minor change should be of major concern to work permit and Tier 2 visa holders who are not being paid the correct salaries – i.e. as stated on their work permits.

The UK Home Office announce another immigration fees hike ‘proposed’ to take effect next month. For instance, a whacking charge of £2,214, up from £2,050, will be levied on applications made at a public enquiry office for indefinite leave to remain (ILR), on behalf of a dependent relative –for instance an elderly parent.
