Elizabeth, a Nurse in the Philippines, received a warm welcome from the team and fellow students at the NVQ training Centre in Borehamwood, where she met fellow Pinoys.

Majestic staff helped her with formailities such as opening a bank account and applying for travel discounts.

Elizabeth is on a 3 year student visa to study NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) in Health and Social Care at Majestic College.

Student collapses at Healthrow airport after stepping off the 14 hour flight and blacking out.

NVQ Student Visa holder Elizabeth arrived in London’s Heathrow Airport yesterday after a bumpy landing in bad weather. She felt a little dizzy after stepping off the 14 hour flight and then collapsed after blacking out.

Fortunately, British Airways staff were on hand to administer first aid and arrange for her to be taken to Hillingdon Hospital for checks and observation. BA staff also contacted her Godmother who was meeting her at the airport.

She was released after two hours, but said the nurses at the hospital, who were also Filipinos, were very friendly, helpful and very professional. 

As a qualified nurse in the Philippines she was able to see first hand the casualty department of a busy hospital and is considering taking IELTS and the ONP course at a later date.

Elizabeth reported today at Majestic College, where she taking an NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) course in Health and Social Care, on a 3 year student visa.

Apart from a small bruise and cut to her face, she is feeling fine and has recovered from her eventful landing in the UK.

Work Permit holder Emily is happy to finally receive her Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) after five years working in the UK.

Emily arranged her original Work Permit, Work Permit extensions and ILR through her Immigration Adviser Bison Management UK in Borehamwood.

She now hopes to bring her dependant children to join her in the UK and later to apply for British Citizenship, which will hopefully not be affected by the Borders Immigration and Citizenship Bill currently going through Parliament.
