Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg has been defending his policies on immigration, after his opponents criticised his party’s proposals for an amnesty for long-term illegal immigrants.
Speaking to the BBC’s Andrew Marr, Mr Clegg said he would be formalising an unofficial system which has been in place for years.
The Liberal Democrats are the only mainstream party which favours an amnesty to deal with the issue of between 500,000 and 1,000,000 illegal immigrants in the UK.
Clegg argues that there is already an amnesty in place in the form of the 14 year rule.

then nick clegg is a fraud like the rest. tell him to look up the word ILLEGAL
it means against the law
if this is the quality of our ruling people, no wonder businessmen are pulling out of here, and its time the people of this country stood up for our rights, the weak kneed MPs wont push the laws and rules as they may offend, that is just an excuse as they are too weak to, they lied about referendum, commited fraud and now want to break the law, either do the job you were voted in for legally or step down.
