The Sun reports that Baroness Scotland’s former housekeeper was charged on Friday with a string of immigration offences.

Lolohi Tapui, who worked illegally for the government minister, is accused of having a false passport, fraud and overstaying her visa.

The charges will cause further embarrassment to the Baroness, the Attorney General and the UK’s most senior lawyer.

Crown lawyers gave the go-ahead to charge the 27-year-old Tongan when she answered bail last week.

She was later released to appear at the City of Westminster magistrates’ court on December 7.

The fraud offence carries a maximum of ten years in prison and relates to her gaining employment from the Baroness with false documents.

The maximum sentence for having a false passport is two years in jail. Overstaying a visa is punishable with up to six months and a £5,000 fine.

Baroness Scotland sacked Tapui, of West London, in September after discovering she was in Britain illegally.

The UK Borders Agency launched a probe and the Baroness was fined £5,000 for employing a foreign national without a work permit.

Tapui’s husband Alexander Zivancevic has been given a caution for assisting unlawful immigration, The Sun revealed.  Source: The Sun.
